Shoshana Klein's Masters Recital
An Armenian folk song, two pieces exploring relationship to religion, one about persona and solitude, and one an expansion on a piece based on a Finnish creation story all have things to say about the way that each of us exists in this world.
Shoshana’s second master's recital will be an audiovisual experience with music for oboe, English horn, and electronics.

This culmination of the unAcademy will be a presentation of the collaborative projects that participants have been working on for the majority of the program.
As part of a group we have nicknamed vague_narrative_thing, we will be presenting our audio-visual electroacoustic sound collage, Diesel Fumes Become Apparent.
This inspiration for this project stems from our love of trains, as well as the general feeling of displacement.

Project 1 is an individual project in which participants will showcase a little bit of what they can do with the creative tools they have at their disposal.
I will be presenting Crows, the newest portion of my [colours] project. This is a portion of my new project [colour] - a visual and sonic project based on my experience with synaesthesia. The exploration, inspiration, and motivation behind this work is based on my family's stories and experiences with crows, and is dedicated to the memories of John Lewis and Annie Lewis.

A group of more than 30 young performers standing in support of those fighting for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and the many other stolen black lives. We are offering this music to raise money for a list of trusted organizations and funds, which you can find below. 100% of what we raise will be spread across these organizations, and a live donation will be made at the conclusion of the concert so that you can see the impact you have made!
The finale of our concert will feature the virtual premier of composer Buck McDaniel's double concerto “On Seeing Two Brown Boys in a Catholic Church" featuring Matthew Jones (tenor) and Van Parker (horn) with the DC String Orchestra, conducted by Ahmed Al Abaca
