Using rhythm in your technical practice

Bored of the same old using dotted eighth-sixteenth and reverse rhythms to learn tough parts?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What if I told you that you could come up with your own rhythms to manage and work on difficult passages?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
"But how?" you ask...?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Yes, I understand completely when the sky is the limit for something it's hard to just find a place to start.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Language and speech.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You read that right. Language and speech has its very own rhythm.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Pick a phrase, word, what you had for breakfast, favourite song lyric, movie quote, even the sentence above. Switch it up with others. Include variety, make it interesting, and unique to you.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If any of this helped you, let me know, and don't forget to sign up for my mailing list where you'll receive practice tips, and news from me!

If you'd like to work more on your own fearless fluting - regardless of skill level or location, or need guidance in structuring your practice and a plan, get in touch and we can have a chat!
